Stories

Families come to us for help every day with very challenging situations.

  • We work with mothers and kids who have been abandoned by fathers and who have experienced domestic violence.
  • We work with hardworking parents whose hours have been cut dramatically in the last several months, and who are now unable to pay their rent.
  • We receive requests from parents with small children, who are caring for their own children and the children of other family members, on a fixed income.
  • We meet moms who are in training programs and going to school, while working part-time and parenting 3 children.
  • We help those who are struggling for the first time in this economy and those who are struggling with the effects of generational poverty.
  • We work with fathers who have been injured on the job and can no longer bring in enough money to support the family.
  • We work with those with cancer, hepatitis, diabetes and heart disease.

Every day we see the everyday suffering of lives in a challenging economy and the tragic suffering of those who are struggling with burdens beyond your imagination.

Many families have exhausted all possible resources from family and friends. Some families have used every available public and non-profit resource in the County and are still struggling to get by.

We remain committed to alleviating suffering through the provision of compassionate support and financial assistance.

This page will feature the story (details changed) of a family we have helped in recent weeks. We hope that these stories will convey a sense of the largeness of what we are trying to accomplish and understanding of our mission as it translates in individual lives.
